HAPPY AMPUVERSARY!

Today is my first anniversary of my amputation or my ampuversary. I love having a new holiday to celebrate that's all about me! It's like a second birthday. It's more like my real birthday. I've been asked by many how I view this day and whether I treat it with joy or with morose mourning. Undoubtedly with JOY! Everyone go out and have some fun today in honor of my celebration!

Thank You Chick-fil-A Girl!!

Today was one of those days that started with tears. It has been a difficult couple of weeks. I'm
having issues with the pain in my leg (both real and phantom) which is making it very painful to wear my prosthesis. I woke up in quite a bit of pain and cried a little at having to get out of bed and face the day. I spent the morning at my prosthetist's office trying to make adjustments so that I can wear my leg without so much pain. Feeling a little down, I stopped for my favorite fast food on the way home. I ordered my Chick-fil-A sandwich at the drive through and when I arrived at the pick-up window I reached into my purse and... no wallet!
Apologetically I told the girl at the window I would have to cancel my order because I had no wallet. Then she smiled and proceeded to hand me my Cherry Coke. I refused thinking she didn't understand that I could not pay. She insisted my meal was on the house today. What?!? How amazing! It's often the small things that remind me to see the sliver linings and enjoy the journey.

Thank you cute girl at the Chick-fil-A drive through window! Thank you!
